Diagenetix began with research by Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Kubota as they sought more sensitive biosensors for in-field detection of agricultural pathogens.  A few business plan competition wins at the University of Hawaii and Rice University provided the early support to continue commercialization efforts with the help of Scott Shibata.
